Francesca Joseph, who for the past 11 years has served as the laundry attendant at the Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne West in Melbourne, has been named the Space Coast’s 2018 Hospitality Specialist of the Year by the Brevard County Tourist Development Council. Joseph was honored during this year’s Hospitality & Tourism Awards presentation ceremony at the annual Space Coast Office of Tourism Luncheon May 15 at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral.
Joseph has long been a key player at the Courtyard Melbourne West, where, under her direction, thousands of pounds of laundry are cleaned each day. Because of her dedication and experience, linen service at the hotel is handled in-house, instead of being contracted out. Julie Braga, the hotel’s assistant general manager, says Joseph “has hospitality in every fiber of her being.”
The Space Coast’s annual tourism luncheon is held in partnership with the U.S. travel community to celebrate the value travel holds for the economy, businesses and personal well-being. The event reflects on the success of the industry and serves as a way to say thanks to local hospitality professionals for working together to promote growth.
