The Space Coast welcomes Florida-based Innisfree Hotels to the area with its recent purchase of the Quality Inn & Suites in Cocoa Beach. As a seasoned hotel development and management company, Innisfree Hotels will no doubt bring in more beachgoing vacationers to Brevard County – adding to visitor spending on area dining, shopping, attractions, etc., and boosting economic impact here.
When asked what drew them to the area, Innisfree CEO Ted Ent explained that the hotel’s prime location near the water on scenic Highway A1A, and the area’s reputation as a premier surf destination, made the purchase “a natural fit for our company’s culture.” Brevard County’s proximity to the Kennedy Space Center and bustling Port Canaveral also contributed to the decision, due to both attractions’ abilities to draw large crowds to the area.
To accommodate cruise travelers, Innisfree plans to offer special cruise packages to its Quality Inn guests. “We even purchased an adjacent parking lot for people to leave their cars while they’re on a cruise,” Ent pointed out.
Looking ahead, Innisfree officials said they’re interested in rebranding the Quality Inn property as a unique, independent hotel, with upgrades to match the choice beach location. With roughly two dozen owned and managed hotels under its wing, the company’s considerable expertise with beachfront properties will play well into this vision.
Meanwhile, we salute Dave Spain, who had been the owner of the Quality Inn & Suites property in Cocoa Beach for more than 40 years. We wish him much success in his future endeavors.
